“This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” – Psalm 118:24 (NKJV)
Each morning we open our eyes is a gift—a day we’ve never seen before and will never see again. It’s easy to take the rhythm of life for granted, but today is not just another day. It is this day. A day that God has handcrafted, placed into our lives with purpose, mercy, and grace.
When Jesus taught us to pray, He said, “Give us this day our daily bread”—not tomorrow’s provision or yesterday’s blessing, but what we need for today. That means every breath, every opportunity, every moment is evidence of God’s sustaining love and faithfulness.
Today is a new chance to get it right, to draw nearer to God, to walk in obedience, to extend love, to forgive, to serve, and to believe again. It’s a clean slate. A divine opportunity.
Let’s not rush through this day or treat it as ordinary. Let’s cherish it with gratitude, knowing that it was given on purpose and for a purpose.
Take a moment right now and thank God for this day. May we live it fully, faithfully, and gratefully.
